Capri Pics

These Capri pics are from the day when we rented a boat for a few hours.

The first is us right in front of the middle of the famous 3 rocks called "faraglioni" , which are pictured from afar in the second pic. The last picture is us in front of the Green Grotto, right after I went swimming in it!

Positano pics

Some Positano pics! The first is the view from the hotel's entrance and the second is from the hotel's terrace

France pics

A few pics from France!
The first one is us wine tasting at the Chateau we stayed at, and the second two are from our wine tour in Provence

end of the road

well, we are back in NYC. Italy time, i think its sometime around 1:30 in the morning, so we are a little out of it.

End of Capri was great. The Island is really tough with the tourists - during the day, walking around Capri is like being in Times Square, but its 86 degrees and sunny and the streets are narrow and crooked. On Saturday we rented a private boat and a captain to take us around the island -- we saw the Blue Grotto (packed, but really neat), the Green Grotto (which I swam in!) and the White Grotto. We also went underneath the arch of the one of the three famous rocks at the southeast (?) corner of the island. It was really fun, and we both felt that it gave us a good appreciation of Capri. It is a really beautiful place.

Sunday we killed time until the ferry in the afternoon - we went to an old monestary and the Augustus Gardens, then had our last pizza in Italy. Took the ferry to Naples then the train to Rome and went right to the hotel exhausted. Flew out of Rome early this morning... and just got back a little while ago. Found a nice big roach in the apartment upon our return. Despite that, its good to be home.

Once I have had some sleep, I will post a few pics on here as a preview, as it will take me a while to send out pictures to everyone. Thanks to all of friends and family for reading the blog!!!

capri

tomorrow is our last full day of the honeymoon. hard to believe. the following day we head to Rome and leave on Monday morning...

Capri has been a lot of fun! we went up to Anacapri today which was wonderful and took the lift to the top of the island. We were literally in the clouds... it was amazing! Tomorrow, weather permitting, we are exploring the island by boat which should be fun.

did not quite make it to ravello yesterday as the ferry service to capri was questionable due to weather, so we didnt want to risk missing the last ferry over. next time.

love to everyone!

positano 2

Ciao everyone!

Positano is amazing!  we had breakfast on our terrace overlooking the sea this morning, looking out towards Praiano.  Spent the morning walking around town, mainly window shopping (as opposed to real shopping, as the Euro/dollar conversion is not helpful).  Had a delicious lunch of Caprese Salad and Pizza down on the Spiagga Grande (the main beach here) and worked it off by walking to the top of the town.  The weather has been spectacular, although rumor is that it may rain tomorrow. :(  We spent the afternoon on the beach and I swam in the ocean, which was quite warm for this time of year.

Tonight we are having dinner up in the mountains in a small town called Montepertuso.  Should be fun.  Tomorrow we hope to head to Ravello, then check out of our hotel and head to Capri for a few nights.

We are very relaxed... hard to believe just half a week left.

love to everyone!

POSITANO!!!

We left a cold, rainy, windy Provence yesterday morning and arrived in sunny Positano earlier today.  IT IS AMAZING!!!  So relaxing and beautiful!!

Had a quick visit to Rome last night where we saw the Spanish Steps and had some gelato.  It was a relatively easy trip down the coast to Positano, and it is really spectacular here.  The hotel is up in the cliffs, overlooking Positano and our terrace looks out the sea.  We look forward to exploring the town tomorrow and heading to Ravello the following day.

Having a blast!  thanks for the comments!!

ciao!!
